Akkodis is seeking a Data Security Engineer for an FTE role with a growing and well funded startup in the San Francisco/Bay Area. The candidate selected will ideally have 5+ years of experience.
Data Security Engineer
FTE position
Salary range: 150-200K ideally
About the company: developing a state-of-the-art AI platform that handles significant amounts of data. We are seeking a dedicated Data Security Engineer to protect our data assets throughout their lifecycle, ensuring integrity and preventing loss.
Position Summary: The Data Security Engineer will focus on protecting data at rest and in transit, ensuring data integrity, and preventing data loss across rPotential.ai'ssystems. This role is vital for maintaining the security and privacy of sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement encryption for data at rest (databases, storage volumes) and in transit (TLS/SSL).
Manage encryption keys securely via a Key Management System (KMS)/ Vaulting and implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
Experience with Azure Databricks
Deploy Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions to prevent unauthorized egress of sensitive data.
Ensure data integrity through hashing, digital signatures, regular backups, and robust disaster recovery plans.
Configure and monitor database security, including authentication, authorization, and activity monitoring.
Define and enforce data access, retention, and usage policies as executable code (Business Policy as Code/Infrastructure as Code).
Implement data anonymization, pseudonymization, and differential privacy techniques for sensitive information used in AI models.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
Experience: [5-7+ years] in data security, database security, encryption technologies, and DLP solutions. Experience with data privacy regulations (e.g., CCPA, GDPR) is a plus.
Any Certifications are a plus: Relevant data security or cloud security certifications (e.g., CDPSE, CCSK, CISSP)
