Purpose/Description

Under the direction of the DPS Department Manager 3, the DPS Department Manager 1 will plan, direct, and/or coordinate the maintenance, repair and management of capital assets and inventory in the Equipment Division of DPS.

Responsibilities

Required Tasks:
  • Assist the Department Manager 3 with daily analytical support.
  • Develop written standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with administering the auction process for vehicles & equipment.
  • Assist with monitoring Equipment Division parts & service contracts, including open and blanket release orders, available funding, vendor pricing, & overseeing the posting of invoices for payment.
  • Process online payments for capital expenditure/equipment purchases.
  • Assists the Department Manager 3 with quarterly reports & annual budget preparations.
  • Assist the Department Manager 3 prepare quarterly non-roads cost reports for expense chargeback to individual divisions.
  • Develop & supply necessary JD Edwards Equipment Module reports as needed from the Division and/or new computer financial platform (Oracle)
  • Assist the Department Manager 3 with DOT to facilitate the needs of the Division regarding new user set-ups for JD Edwards, Oracle, Samsara, Procure to Pay and Windows.
  • Procure hardware & software for the division.
  • Assist with tracking contracts.
  • Evaluate shipping and receiving instructions to ensure that delivery times and locations are coordinated.
  • Assist with examining products or materials to estimate quantities or weight and type of container required for storage/transport.
  • Assist with plans for fleet maintenance software modification or expansion, such as equipment purchase or changes in structural design.
  • Assist with APWA policy & procedure manuals creation & maintaining.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as needed.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience/Educational Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance or related field; AND
  • Three (3) years of fleet analyst experience; AND
  • At least five (5) years of fleet management experience and supporting software platforms; AND
  • Two (2) years or more experience in asset management or related industries.
