Job Title: Shipping Loader & Unloader

Job Description

The Shipping Loader & Unloader is responsible for assisting the shipping team to safely load products for the customer. This role ensures the layout, quality, and efficiency of the shipping process and verifies shipment completion through the use of scanners, tablets, and computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all safety protocols are followed by the team.
• Maintain the quality of products being loaded.
• Identify, count, and record all materials as loaded.
• Interpret and direct trailer loading as per the load layout configuration.
• Load, pack, and secure all materials in trailers to ensure safety and prevent damage during transit.
• Handle steel sections overhead.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Essential Skills

• General labor, unloading, loading, assembly, and production experience.
• Forklift operation skills.
• 1 to 2 years of shipping experience ensuring proper loading, packing, and securing of materials on trailers to prevent damage in transit.
• Ability to read blueprints and layouts to ensure proper loading, packing, and securing of materials.
• Proficient with various computer applications, scanners, and tablets.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Must be able to handle physical requirements such as standing and walking throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift and stack banded door panels up to forty-five pounds (45lbs) and work with team members for heavier items.
• Capability to push and pull carts with force of forty-five pounds (45lbs) with assistance for heavier items.
• Manual dexterity to grip small objects and perform repetitive motions.
• Ability to work in varying conditions, including noisy and high-temperature environments.

This is a Permanent position based out of Lawrence, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42120.00 - $45240.00/yr.

Benefits include Medical/Dental/Vision, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays from day one, tuition reimbursement, and a 401k plan (with an automatic 3% company contribution, regardless of your contribution after your first year of employment) among others.
