Summary It's an exciting time to be at the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA)! GLWA employs hundreds of technical and administrative staff, all working to ensure effective wastewater treatment and to provide our award-winning drinking water to more than 80 wholesale customers in Michigan.
We are looking for a Management Professional-Schedule and Document Control Lead who will be responsible for overseeing the management and tracking systems of GLWA. This role is expected to work closely with schedule administrators within project operations and Project Managers facilitating the schedule or data analysis and management of information requirements for CIP stakeholders. A schedule control manager is expected to demonstrate a high level of experience of information management.
Job Responsibilities - Assist in the construction and development of the workforce management tool in order to meet the requirements of program delivery
- Contribute to the establishment and development of effective communication methods to support schedule management at various levels
- Identify interdependencies in cross-functional projects
- Assist with the production of performance management data, scorecards, dashboards, and trackers
- Overseeing and managing schedule processes, and conducting all relevant internal audits
- Develop healthy relationships in order to achieve scheduling goals and construction deliveries
- Create an environment where Team Members can challenge existing processes and discover new ways of working
- Identify the issues or risks that are associated with any aspect of workforce planning cycle and its supporting data, providing appropriate recommendations or improvement strategies
- Report scheduling data with the use of various tools and models
- Assist the organization with team member training, implementation of new software functionality, ideas, and testing
- Administer schedule development and maintenance, status, coaching others, and helping set up best practices for schedule focused activities
- Maintaining the program calendar, including appointments, travel plans, meetings, and conferences
- Converse with all levels of management
- Integrate information from multiple sources to form a comprehensive perspective
- Analyzing setbacks and seek honest feedback to learn from mistakes
- Translate vision and policy into concrete work activities
- Manage and lead a project accurately and effectively
- Manage through teamwork and influence direct and non-direct reports
- Work in a complex fast-moving environment
- Prioritize workloads and multitask to meet deadlines and milestones
Required Education and Experience At the time of application, applicant must:
A. Bachelor's degree in a related operational area
AND three (3) or more years of experience in a document control field preferably in a municipal or public utility setting
OR B. Associate's degree in a related operational area
AND five (5) or more years of experience in a specialty designation area preferably in a municipal or public utility setting.
Other Requirements: • Valid Driver's License
Preferred - A minimum of 5 years' experience in the Document Control field with at least 3 years' experience in a lead document control role
- Strong computer skills, including systems such as Primavera 6 and Microsoft Project
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Office and strength with Excel
- Knowledge of scheduling in an EVM environment or developmental environment
- Experience in management working in a utility or engineering/construction technical documentation environment

Environmental Working Requirements: Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to computer screens, working in team offices, and closely with all staffing levels.
