\nRN - Med Surg Orthopedic/Neuro
\n\nJob Details:
\n• Work 12-hour shifts: Days 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or Nights 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with 30-minute lunch break
\n• Every-other-weekend requirement (Weekend shifts for nights are Friday/Saturday/Sunday ; days are Saturday/Sunday)
\n• Patient ratio of 1:6 on 33-bed unit with all private rooms
\n• Must have EPIC experience - required
\n• Must have experience with orthopedic patients and PCA pumps
\n• BLS (AHA) certification required
\n• Must submit unexpired copy of driver's license with application
\n• Care for patients with elective surgeries including hips, knees, shoulders, fractures from falls, back and neck neuro-surgeries, and general medical-surgical patients
\n• Manage IV fluids and PCA pumps (no heparin or other drips)
\n• Remote telemetry monitoring available if needed (monitored by 3rd floor)
\n• May be required to work holidays depending on unit needs
\n• Subject to floating to any medical-surgical units as first priority
\n• Royal blue scrubs required (scrub jackets optional but must be royal blue if worn)
\n• Orientation includes 1 day EPIC training, 1 day floor orientation with preceptor, then independent on day 3
\n• May be called off for low census depending on contract
\n• BSN not required

\nThis healthcare facility operates a 33-bed orthopedic and neurological medical-surgical unit featuring all private rooms. The facility maintains 24/7 charge nurse coverage and employs patient care technicians to assist with vital signs, blood sugar monitoring, activities of daily living, and foley catheter discontinuation. The organization uses EPIC charting system and provides comprehensive support services including respiratory therapy for CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen management.
